SMILE JAMAICA BENEFIT CONCERT
1 - All allong the watchtower
2 - Angel of Harlem
3 - When love comes to town (with Keith Richards)
4 - Love rescue me (with Ziggy Marley)
After rumors and speculation, U2 make a special 16 minute appearance at the Smile Jamaica benefit concert for the victims of Hurricane Gilbert, which destroyed one out of every five homes in Jamaica.
This is U2's only official concert of 1988 and for the first time since February 1985 they play for a small crowd of 2,500.
U2 are the last on the bill and start with All Along the Watchtower in an arrangement similar to Rattle and Hum.
The first live performance of Angel of Harlem contains horns by the Rumor Horn Section.
At the start of When Love Comes to Town, Bono wails, "Where's my mate, Keith Richards?" Keith is already on stage adjusting his guitar strap and throughout the song
adds extensive guitar solos wherever he can. He stays onstage for Love Rescue Me, during which Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers, who performed earlier, join in to sing a verse.
The crowd sing "How long to sing this song" when U2 have left the stage.
All the proceeds from the song are donated to the Smile Jamaica Fund.
